Qualities and strengths of China’s socialist democracy: its promotion of multi-party cooperation
中国共产党领导的多党合作和政治协商制度是我国一项基本政治制度，人民政协是实行这一新型政党制度的重要政治形式和组织形式。70多年来人民政协的性质定位和重要职能，与新型政党制度、民主党派的职能紧密相关，既在新型政党制度中有鲜明的体现，为将新型政党制度的独特优势转化为国家治理效能提供制度支撑，又为各民主党派发扬民主、参与国是、团结合作、开展民主监督，提供了重要平台。
The system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC is one of China’s basic political systems, and the CPPCC is an important political and organizational form for practicing this new model of political party system. For over 70 years, the nature and functions of the CPPCC have remained closely correlated with the new model of political party system and the functions of other political parties besides the CPC. The CPPCC plays a distinct role in the new party system model, providing institutional support for translating the unique strengths of this model into effective national governance, and it also serves as an important platform for all non-CPC parties to promote democracy, participate in national affairs, come together and cooperate, and carry out democratic oversight.
